Newcastle have agreed terms for transfer of Montpellier Yanga-Mbiwa

Daily Mail informs Newcastle have agreed a deal to sign Montpellier defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa.

The 23-year-old Frenchman set to fly to England to undergo his medical and is widely expected to sign the next week. The transfer fee is believed to be around £6.7million.

Yanga-Mbiwa will undoubtedly add consistency and strength to a sloppy Newcastle defensive line. Frenchman’s arrival could hardly come at a better time, taking into account the news that the Magpies’ captain Fabricio Coloccini is likely to leave the club due to the ‘personal issues’.

Yanga-Mbiwa has made 22 appearances for his club this season.
