Newcastle skipper Coloccini: I am focused on playing for the club

Newcastle captain Fabrizio Coloccini revealed that although he is still nurturing the idea of returning to San Lorenzo, he puts his heart and soul to help his club staying in the top flight this season.

It seemed that the 31-year-old defender was determined to leave the club for Argentina in January. However Coloccini changed his mind after having a conversation with the club’s hierarchy.

The Argentina international said: “I want to be totally focused on playing for Newcastle now. We will see about the future because the idea of returning to Argentina still exists and I need it.”
