Notorious Joey Barton asks for Everton job
Joey Barton, who has not played in England since his outrage against Manchester City on the final day of 2011/2012 season, wants another spell in the Premier League and has expressed his desire to join Everton.
Joey was infamously sent off on May, 13 after punching Carlos Tévez, Sergio Agüero and trying to head-butt Vincent Kompany during the decisive game between QPR and Manchester City. Shortly after that he was loaned out to Olympique Marseille and appeared 25 times during the season. However, the French club found it hard to comply with his wage demand of £70,000 a week and released the player at the end of 2012/2013 campaign. It is believed that Harry Redknapp will hardly be going to find a place for wretched midfielder and Barton’s agent McKay has addressed Everton coach Roberto Martinez to offer the services of the player.
‘I spoke to Roberto to see if he would be interested in taking Joey. I told him that Joey would love to join Everton and that they are the only club he willing to lose money to play for.’
It remains unclear though whether the Spanish manager deems it fruitful to take Joey.
