Palermo farce continues

The Italian club dismissed Gian Piero Gasperini for the second time in a season.

Palermo owner Maurizio Zamparini who desperately attempts to avoid relegation sacked Gian Piero Gasperini after Sunday’s defeat to Siena 2-1. The manager led the side for only two weeks in his second charge, while the loss left the Sicilians second bottom with 10 games left.

Zamparini fired four coaches this campaign, bringing one of them back. Weekend loss sparked protests among Palermo fans who gathered outside the stadium after the game, throwing objects at the team bus and urging Zamparini to step down.
