Reina stays at Liverpool

Daily Mirror states Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina is willing to stay at Anfield despite the interest from his childhood club Barcelona.

Earlier this year Reina said he would be happy to return to his former club to replace Victor Valdez, who is on the verge of leaving the club after rejecting to extend his current deal. This revelation fuelled the speculations about the likely Reina move away from Anfield with Barcelona said to be his destination. Man Utd who are looking for a replacement to their goalie De Gea are also said to be interested.

However Reina dismissed the rumours saying he is happy to stay at the club. Barcelona are the best club in the world. I was formed there both as a player and as a person. It’s a surprise Valdes wants to leave. Rumours about me replacing him? I’ve a contract at Liverpool until 2016 and I want to fulfil it.”
