Riether signed a permanent deal with Fulham

Fulham have agreed to sign Cologne loanee Sascha Riether on a permanent deal, after the player impressed both the fans and the coaching staff with his quality performances.

The 30-year-old German joined the Cottagers on a season-long loan last summer and made right back position his own, scoring a goal and setting up another 6 in his 34 Premier League appearances. With Cologne suffering relegation from Bundesliga, Riether was keen on staying in top flight with Premier League side.

Fans welcomed the signing of Riether, who joined the Cottagers for an undisclosed fee. The German thanked Cologne, saying: Thanks to the FC. The club and the city have grown on me during my time in the Cologne. I am pleased after a first season in England and am focused on my other tasks in Fulham.
