Schneiderlin signed a new Southampton deal
Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin has put pen to paper on a new long-term contract.
The new four-year deal will keep him at the club for at least 2017. Having joined the club from Strasbourg for around €1.5m in 2008, the Frenchman has made 185 first-team starts for the club and is currently considered an important first-team player at the St. Mary’s Stadium.
The 24-year-old creative midfielder has made 26 appearances this season scoring 4 goals and setting up another one. Schneiderlin revealed: “I am a very happy man. To commit my future to Southampton is a big thing because this club has big ambitions – and I have big ambitions as well. I wouldn’t have signed this contract if the Club didn’t have a big project. When I spoke to the Chairman and the Manager, I knew they wanted to do something very good at this club and I want to be a part of that. My main focus now is to do a great job on the pitch so we achieve all of the ambitions that we have.”
