Serie A fixtures preview: Inter vs. Juventus

Serie A fixtures preview: Inter vs. Juventus

Inter and Juventus come to the Derby D’Italia with opposite goals. The running champions are close to clinching a second successive scudetto and will approach the game keeping in mind the clash against Bayern in the Champions League. The Nerazzuti are fighting for a top-3 finish with the club showing mediocre results with two victories and two defeats in last five matches.

Inter defeated Juventus in the last encounter of the sides 3-1 in Milan, yet it is not the only thing Andrea Stramaccioni’s men will get inspiration from. The Europa League matches against Tottenham Hotspur indicated that the side has potential to develop as the Italians almost overturned a 3-0 deficit in Milan. The Nerazurri defense is the weakest line in the team as the side conceded 37 goals in 28 matches which is the worst result among top-6 teams.

Stramaccioni is likely to use the 4-3-1-2 formation with Antonio Cassano and Rodrigo Palacio playing upfront.

Antonio Conte will be more focused on the mid-week game against the German champions and that is why may deploy conservative approach against Inter. Claudio Marchisio is likely to play in an advanced position as a link-man between a striker and a midfield. Mirko Vucinic and Giorgio Chiellini will miss the fixture, while Luca Marrone and Alessandro Matri are likely to appear in the starting 11.
