Tottenham chase Everton Baines

Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas is seriously considering the possibility of bringing Everton left back Leighton Baines to the White Hart Lane.

Should the Spurs succeed in reaching the Champions League spot this season, the Portuguese is keen to strengthen his side in order to be able to compete with the high profile opposition in major European tournament next season.

The current deal of 28-year-old Baines is set to expire in two years. After the string of impressive performances this season, he has been linked with moves to host of Premier League clubs, including newly crowned Premier League champions Manchester United. However Everton are unlikely to part ways with their player for anything less than £12 million.

Baines is thought to be interested in a move to a bigger club, as this could boost his chances of receiving England call-up for 2014 World Cup.
