Tottenham sweat on Bale fitness ahead of clash against Man City

Tottenham star Gareth Bale remains a major doubt for crucial Premier League encounter against defending champions Manchester City on Sunday.

It is to be recalled that the 23-year-old has suffered an ankle injury during Tottenham 2-2 Europa League draw with Basel on April 4. The Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas hoped the Welsh wizard returns to full fitness just in time to face the Citizens.

However now it looks his hopes suffered a major blow, as Bale has missed the training yesterday and continues intensive treatment on his injury. Bale is expected to be back in action for the Premier League clash against Wigan on April 27.
