UEFA Europa League fixtures: Tottenham Hotspur v Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk, Napoli v Swansea City

Can Tottenham or Swansea be the first British team to win a European play-off match?

All four British clubs, playing in UEFA Champions League, failed to win in their first legs. Neither Spurs nor Swans won in Europa League last week. So Swansea now need to score at Stadio San Paolo after a stalemate in Wales and Tottenham must overcome a one-goal deficit at White Hart Lane against Ukrainian Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk, leaded by Tim Sherwood summer target Yevhen Konoplyanka. With Premier League giants Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United set for Champions League early exit, Europa League should become the tournament that could save reputation of English game. Otherwise, Roy Keane might have been right saying “people have been brainwashed with the idea that Premier League is the best league in the world”.

What a shame for English football, honestly, so much money spent on transfers in the last couple of years and nothing coming out..
