Zeman: "The team never played against me"

Former Roma coach says he did not expect to be dismissed from his position.

The Giallorossi sacked Zdenek Zeman after last weekend’s 4-2 defeat to Cagliari. However the Capital side showed mediocre results from the very start of the season, reaching only the and eighth place in the table nine points behind a Champions League spot.

The Czech tactician claims the decision of the club was surprising for him and insists that the players were supporting him. “I do not feel abandoned by Roma players and the team never played against me,” Zeman says.

The coach underlines that he talked with the side’s captain and the board before his departure and they thanked him for his dedication.
“It’s nice to see the affection from the supporters – I didn’t expect it,” says the manager.
