Kevin Long is a defender of Burnley. He was born on 18 August 1990 in Cork, Ireland.
Kevin spent last two years of his youth career in Cork City, where he performed for the junior squad of the club. In 2009, the footballer was absolutely ready for a professional start and penned his first senior contract. Long made 16 appearances for the team and sealed a deal with Burnley after the management of ‘The Clarets’ made him one of the main targets in the winter transfer window.
However, Kevin failed to take part in any fixtures for the club during two years, because the head coach had a lot of experienced and talented players at his disposal. In 2010, the footballer went on loan to Accrington Stanley and featured in 15 matches during the first half of the 2010/2011 season. The management of the team liked Long performance and secured his services for the first half of the 2011/2012 season. The defender netted four goals in 24 games during his spell and became the pivot of the club.
In January 2012, Kevin joined Rochdale for the second half of the 2011/2012 season and took part in 16 fixtures for the team before completing a temporary move to Portsmouth, where he featured in five matches.
After returning to his parent Burnley, the footballer took his tally to two appearances for ‘The Clarets’ as of January 2013.
