Barcelona’s Valdes set to stay for one more season

Barcelona’s Valdes set to stay for one more season

Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes is looking to see out his contract with the Blaugrana, before considering the possibility of leaving the club.

Current Valdes’ deal is set to expire by the end of June, 2014. The goalkeeper put top European clubs on alert, saying earlier this month he wants a new challenge and is reluctant to prolong his stay at Camp Nou. Valdes has been firmly linked with a move to Liverpool and Arsenal this summer. However Barcelona do not wish to cash in on their talismanic player, while the 31-year-old Spaniard revealed he honours his contract with Barcelona and wants to see it out before leaving the club.

Barcelona president Sandro Rosell said: “Valdes’ agent has officially informed our director of football, Andoni Zubizarreta, that Victor intends to see out his current contract, which we are pleased to hear.”

Why Barca keep holding on to the keeper who doesn't have a weekend without a stupid fuke of some sort? :) Sell him while he costs something
