Chelsea favourites to sign Vitesse goal-machine Bony

Chelsea have joined the list of clubs interested in signing Vitesse striker Wilfried Bony and are considered to be the favourites to secure the services of the 24-year old player.

The Ivory Coast international has joined the Dutch side from Sparta Prague in 2011 for £4million and quickly established himself as an important first-team player. He has netted 26 goals in 24 team starts, helping his side to become one of Eredivisie title contenders.

Earlier this week Bony has been linked with a move to West Ham, however the Hammers have cooled their interest due to Bony’s inflated wage demands of £80,000 per week, which could break club’s wage structure.

Striker’s agent Francis Kacou has been recently spotted at Stamford Bridge, trying to offer the services of his agent. Bony himself stated he is flattered with Chelsea interest and would be happy to play for such an illustrious club. He said: “If they want me, it would be a great honour. I would be glad to go to such a club. I love English football and wouldn’t be afraid to play there. Chelsea are a top club. I know that Chelsea and Arnhem are close and some of the Chelsea lads are here on loan, including Tomas (Kalas). I have discussed it with him many times already.”
