The Australians came from behind with two late goals from Tim Cahill in the 80th minute and from Archie Thompson four minutes after. However, Thaer Bawab squeezed in a consolation goal in the dying minutes. The Uzbekistani team savoured their first victory over Qatar and Iran’s captain brought a 1-0 win over Korea Republic to his team.
