The line-up for the quarterfinal was decided

The group stage of the Men’s football Olympic tournament has defined the teams for the quarter final.

Brazil topped Group C after celebrating an impressive 3-0 victory over New Zealand in Newcastle. The 23-year-old midfielder Danilo opened the scoring and then recorded a second one before the break. In the second half Sandro netted a third goal. They will face Honduras in the quarter finals.

Egypt beat Belarus 3-1 at Glasgow’s Hampden Park to reach the quarter final. Mohamed Salah, Marwan Mohsen and Mohamed Aboutrika dropped Belarus behind having scored three goals. Andrei Voronkov managed to score the consolation goal.

Egypt will face Japan, which made it through the last eight.

Mexico topped Group B beating Switzerland 1-0. After that slender win Mexico will continue in the quarter finals.

Euro 2012 champion Spain had a goalless draw with Morocco and failed to deliver on target.

One goal was netted by the British Daniel Sturridge against Uruguay. So Great Britain follow to the quarter final where on Saturday evening they will meet the Republic of Korea in Cardiff, which drew with Gabon recently.

Senegal played against UA Emirates without a goal and will face Mexico in quarters.
