Liverpool skipper Gerrard unlikely to undergo a surgery in summer

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers revealed Steven Gerrard will not undergo a shoulder surgery in summer, although he did not rule out the operation in the future.

According to the latest reports England international needs an urgent medical intervention to fix his shoulder problem, however Brendan Rodgers played down these rumours.

Liverpool manager did reveal that Steve G has been playing with a shoulder injury all the season, and refused to rule out the surgery being required in the future. He said: “There’s nothing in that at all, really. You’ll have noticed over the last year or so, whether he’s been playing for Liverpool or England, he’s had some taping and strapping on his shoulder - but there is no immediate surgery planned. We’re just going to see how it goes between now and the end of the season. He’s dealt well with it and performed remarkably well, so there is no decision on it at all.”
