Liverpool target Sporting Diego Capel

Liverpool are seriously considering the possibility of signing Sporting Lisbon winger Diego Capel, however they are likely to face stern competition from the side of French outfits Marseille.

Cash-strapped Sporting Lisbon are likely to part ways with their brightest stars in summer to balance their books, and Diego Capel is expected to be one of the first players to leave amid the high interest from top European clubs. However Sporting are unlikely to settle for anything less than £10 million for the 25-year-old Spain international, and rebuilding Liverpool are rumoured to be ready to meet the demands.

Capel came through the youth ranks with Barcelona, before joining Sevilla where he spent seven years. He moved to Sporting for €3.5 million in 2011. The winger has made 45 appearances for the club scoring 6 goals.
