Manchester United v Arsenal: Premier League fixtures

Manchester United v Arsenal: Premier League fixtures

The first classic battle at Old Trafford between United and Arsenal without Sir Alex Ferguson since 1996 is definitely something to watch this Sunday.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger admitted it would feel strange to visit the Theatre of Dreams and see no Ferguson there. He also commented on the work of new Manchester coach:

“David Moyes has shown great competence at Everton, so you need to leave him time to really get a grip on Manchester United, and he is slowly doing that. You see it now in the results.
“When someone has been there for 26 years and goes, it takes time for the guy who comes in.
“It is very dangerous and difficult for the manager who comes in. For me, Moyes is dealing very well with the situation.”

Manchester United have won the last five encounters with the Gunners at Old Trafford but the London side has arguably not been that strong lately. They beat Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund inside a week and are now set to kill off one of their main title rivals. David Moyes, in his turn, must win to reduce the gap in between the two outfits to five points.

Arsenal will be without Jack Wilshere, Lukas Podolski, Theo Walcott, Mathieu Flamini, Yaya Sanogo, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Abou Diaby. Michael Carrick, Tom Cleverley, Jonny Evans, Danny Welbeck and Rafael are doubtful for United.
