QPR’s Hoilett keen on Premier League stay

Queens Park Rangers’ winger Junior Hoilett revealed he would prefer a move to Premier League club over playing in Championship next season as his side has lost any chance of avoiding relegation.

The 22-year-old Canadian has joined QPR from Championship side Blackburn Rovers in 2012 as a free agent in a bid to receive his share of Premier League football. However now he finds himself in the same position as he considers available options.

Current Hoilett’s deal which is worth £50,000-a-week is set to expire in three time and Rangers may be eager to offer the player for free as they are looking to reduce their wage bill. However Holiett is likely to accept a major wage cut if he is to join top-flight club.

He said: “Of course I want to stay in the top-flight. Every player does. It has been a tough - there is no doubt. All I can do is learn from the situation and come back stronger.”
