Ronaldo: "I will never forget United"

Ronaldo: "I will never forget United"

Real Madrid forward says Manchester is still his home.

The Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo claimed he was happy when he found out that Real’s next opponent in the Champions League will be his former club Manchester United.

“Although I understand it will be a really difficult knock-out round. I know that there will be a lot of attention on me, but that doesn’t put me under much pressure at all. It’s just a game of football against my former team. I’m not going to war, I’m coming home,” said the 27-year-old player.

Portugal international underlined that Manchester was his home when he played there, and that is why he still has special feeling towards the club. “When people treat you well you never forget that. So I will never forget United, all people who work there and the fans,” Ronaldo told the English press.

Football super star also praised Manchester United manager Alex Fergusson for his work, yet refused to compare the Scottish manager with Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho.

“United has a superb manager in Ferguson, I really know that. But so have we in Mourinho. And he’s my manager now so I obviously believe Mourinho wins. It’s like comparing a Porsche and a Ferrari . Both are very good, have experience and both like to win - and I mean to win everything,” added the player.

Real plays against Manchester United in the first leg of the Champions League on February 13 at Santiago Bernabeu.
