Sissoko suspended by Toulouse over the demand to move to Newcastle

Daily Mail reports that Newcastle target Toulouse midfielder Moussa Sissoko has been banned for several matches by his club due to his demands to move to the St.James Park.

Current contract of the 23-year-old France international is due to expire in summer and he is believed to have signed a pre-contract agreement with the Magpies. However the in-demand player does not intend to wait long and tries to force his way out of the club.

The Ligue 1 club in turn wants to receive £2.5 million for Sissoko if he is to leave in January and prepared to play hardball over the transfer. They have suspended the player from the forthcoming French Cup fixture against Paris Saint-Germain.

Toulouse manager Alain Casanova said: “The whole club shows full solidarity to that chairman’s decision.”

“It is really a shame a player educated at the club could leave as free agent. His absence is big loss for the team, but that decision is logical.”
