Top 5 UEFA Champions League players according to FootballTop

Top 5 UEFA Champions League players according to FootballTop

It’s only been two match days into the current Champions League campaign and the clubs are just starting to find their way in the tournament. However, some of the players already managed to impress. Here is a list of top five players of European autumn according to FootballTop.com. And yes, we intentionally forgot all the guys called Cristiano and Leo!

5. Umut Bulut (Galatasaray)

He might have entered the pitch somewhat fifteen minutes to the final whistle in each of the two games, but what an impact he made. Bulut reminded us of perpetually young Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as he managed to score six minutes after being introduced against Real Madrid and though his goal was hardly any consolation in a 1-6 home defeat, it deserves some praise. Last night he hit the back of the net behind Gianluigi Buffon in Italy, with his goal having a much bigger weight as it earned a hardly fought draw against direct rivals. Should we say Bulut was subbed in 74 minutes? The Turkish striker should probably stop scoring like that to convince Roberto Mancini to let him start matches.

4. Julian Draxler (Schalke 04)

The youngster has already become one of the hottest transfer targets after his Champions League display and Chelsea are reportedly the main contenders as Jose Mourinho is up to building a young squad full of talent. Julian scored in both matches and provided an assist to Kevin-Prince Boateng. His only goal against Basel from a long-range strike earned three points to the club and put them top of the group. And he is only 20-year old!

3. Aaron Ramsey (Arsenal)

The vast share of hype in the London club has gone to Mesut Ozil and deservedly so. The German brought class to Wenger’s side. However, Arsenal’s successful start to the season has a lot to do with fantastic conditions of the Welsh midfielder. He is the club’s top passer and has more attempts on target that anyone else in the squad. Ramsey scored against Marseille and assisted Ozil the other night. Not too bad for a 22-year old midfielder who attacked on rare occasions before this season.

2. Arjen Robben (Bayern Munich)

He might just be a brick in a solid Munich wall, and his club would have probably won their games had not the Dutch been in the squad. Still, the present Robben is arguably the best edition of himself. He scores, he assists, he has made 12 attempts, he even scored with his right foot, which probably stunned his teammates. It simply looks like the harder competition is the better he plays.

1. Marquinhos (PSG)

This 19-year old fella has been our favorite after two matches. The Brazilian managed to score in each of the games against Olympiacos and Benfica and was a cornerstone of Laurent Blanc’s side defence. Only Thiago Motta completed more passes than the summer signing and his completion rate is 91%. 30 million euros has been working so far! Marquinhos will definitely be eager to match Thiago Silva at the World Cup in Brazil.
