World Cup OFC results: South Korea outplayed Uzbekistan 1-0

South Korea battled to a 1-0 victory over the main rivals Uzbekistan to boost their chances of qualifying for the World Cup in Brazil.

Uzbekistan’s Shorakhmedov sent the ball past his own goalkeeper in the 42nd minute to bring Korea crucial three points. Should Iran lose to Lebanon in Tehran, Korea will progress to World Cup final stages.

South Korea are currently leading their Group A with 14 points, three points above Uzbekistan, four and seven points above Iran and Qatar respectively. Koreans face Iran, while Uzbekistan host Qatar in the final round of matches.
