Polish goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski signed a four-year contract with Swansea City.

Fabianski has repeatedely pointed out that he was unsatisfied with a second-string position behind compatriot Wojciech Szczesny as he mainly took part in cup competitions during his seven seasons with the Gunners. The 29-year old only made 78 appearances while with Arsenal, and won the FA Cup several weeks ago. He will now compete with Michel Vorm and Gerhard Tremmel for the starting place in the Welsh club. His contract will start on 1 July.

Arsene Wenger is now left without back-up to Wojciech Szczesny as his third goalkeeper, Emiliano Viviano, returns to Palermo after a loan spell.
